Anti-lock Braking System sensor

Located on or around the hub of the wheel and is more commonly known as the ABS sensor. This sensors informs the ABS ECU if, under braking, a wheel stops rotating, and releases the pressures on the system in order to get the wheels rotating again and help the car stop without skidding (an electronic version of cadence braking).

Air Temperature Sensor
(Engine Management)

Located in the inlet air ducting or in the throttle body on the SPI set-ups. It informs the ECU of the temperature of the air coming into the engine, which also gives the density of the air. Cold air is denser that hot air and so needs more fuel.

Air Temperature Sensor
Ambient Air Temperature Sensor

Usually located below the headlight behind the valance in a panel/ pocket out of the flow of the air stream and away from the heat of the engine bay. This sensor informs the ECU of the outside air temperature as a comparison to the temperature of the air flowing into the engine.

Atmospheric Pressure Sensor

Located on the bulkhead, it informs the ECU of the altitude of the vehicle location. Higher altitudes means thinner air, it is also known as a Baro Sensor (Baro short for Barometric). It looks like a MAP sensor.
